With the rise of MOBA’s, hero shooters, and other intense and action packed multiplayer games, the first person shooter is getting some more competition. The franchise at the top, Call of Duty, is definitely feeling this change. There may be a space adventure installment in the series coming, but that doesn’t mean Black Ops III is done yet.
Treyarch is bringing in something entirely new to the most recent Call of Duty this week, as announced in their Twitch stream. A brand new multiplayer mode called Fracture will have teams competing against each other like never before. Each player will be carrying special files with them. When a player is killed, they will drop these files. In a similar fashion to Kill Confirmed, opponents can grab these files for themselves, or teammates can grab it to save it from being used to give the other team points. Anyone can carry up to ten enemy files. These files have to be brought to fracture sites on the map to be deposited for points. This could take some time, especially if you have a few files in hand, so you’ll have to stay on your toes or have some backup with you.
Fracture will be released this Friday, June 15th, at 10:00 am PT. There will be a 10 minute time limit or a 60 point limit. Be the first to try out this new Call of Duty mode amongst your friends and be the best.
