Keiji Yamagishi, the composer for the Ninja Gaiden series, revealed via Twitter that he’s working on a new project related to Ninja Gaiden. Keiji later informed fans that it isn’t a new game however.
Yamagishi first tweeted that, “I’m pleased to announce that I’m working on a new project related to Ninja Gaiden. I’ll be able to share more news in July!”
More than a few people took this as an announcement of a new game in the series, but that is not the case. In a follow-up tweet, Yamagishi replied, “I apologise for any confusion caused by this tweet. This new project does not relate to a new video game!”
Keiji Yamagishi composed music for the NES Ninja Gaiden and Ninja Gaiden III: The Ancient Ship of Doom, but he did not compose for the 3D games on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
While Yamagishi is not composing for a new game in the series, fans have been speculating that he is instead working on a HD remaster of the old Gaiden games or some sort of concert series. The speculations will have to carry on until July when Yamagishi will be able to speak more about the project he’s working on.
