Prepare yourselves because Gravity Rush 2 is soaring its way into homes December 2. Along with the release date, the announcement of an anime adaptation was also made on PlayStation’s blog.
Those who pre-order the game from specific retailers will receive an alternate white costume DLC for Kat, the main protagonist of the game. Also, pre-ordering includes a select soundtrack featuring nine tracks from the game. If you pre-order on PlayStation Store starting August 2 you’ll receive an instant reward of 10 PSN avatars.
The anime based on the brand is called Gravity Rush The Animation ~ Overture ~. The story will bridge the gap between the original Gravity Rush and the sequel. This anime is being produced by Studio Khara, best known for their work on Rebuild of Evangelion. More information on the anime is expected to release before the game’s launch.
In addition to the announcements, a new trailer for the game was released:
Introduced in the trailer is Angel, a new character who acts as a guardian angel for Kat, aiding her when she’s in a bind.
“Angel is a super heroine with an aggressive and wild fighting style, and packs an overwhelming punch to her attacks,” the blog post read. “She also has a crystallization ability that helps her to regenerate health instantly.”
Gravity Rush 2 is the follow-up to its 2012 predecessor on Vita. The sequel will release exclusively on PlayStation 4.
