Gravity Rush 2 will receive a release date this month, at least in Japan.
The PlayStation 4 exclusive, known as Gravity Daze in Japan, showed up minimally at last month’s E3, but is still scheduled to be released in 2016. The release date for the game will be revealed on July 19th during an event between 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. JST at the Ebisu Act Square located in Shibuya, Tokyo.
In addition to finding out when Gravity Rush 2 will drop in Japan, the event will reveal information on the Gravity Rush animation project, feature an interview with game director Keiichiro Toyama, and have a special mini-concert from composer Koehei Tanaka.
As a bonus, those who attend this event in person will get to walk away with some exclusive Gravity Rush 2 “Gravity Drop” candy.
In Gravity Rush 2, you once again take control of Kat alongside her actual cat, Dusty, who gives her the power to manipulate gravity in order to move about and defeat enemies that have taken over the city. The new sequel promises to be bigger and more varied, as seen in its latest trailer below, which was not shown off on the Sony stage.
The original Gravity Rush was released exclusively for PlayStation Vita, becoming somewhat of a cult classic. Sony remastered the title and brought it to PlayStation 4 earlier this year, after announcing that the game’s sequel will not be coming to Sony’s handheld platform, but rather getting a sole console release.
