The Assassin’s Creed movie will be directed by Justin Kurzel who has previously directed Macbeth (2015) and The Turning. Other notable actors and actresses working alongside Michael Fassbender are Marion Cartillard and Jeremy Iron.
It was stated by Ubisoft that the movie will be set in Spain and will feature scenes from the present and past, much like the game does. Only this time, the movie will feature a ratio of 65:35 respectively. The emphasis of present day sequences was to ‘allow more freedom’ for the team to flesh out a new story, one that doesn’t rely on the game and completely stand-alone. Because of that, notable characters like Ezio and Altaïr will not be mentioned or featured.
The movie will be available later this year on December 21st, 2016 in cinemas for the states. No word has been mentioned from Ubsoft when the movie will be available to watch anywhere else in the world.
