With Mass Effect: Andromeda on the horizon, players have been seeking answers to old questions from the original trilogy. Mass Effect: Andromeda will take place many years into the future which means that fans looking for answers about current events and characters had nowhere to go. In order to provide answers to the fans, four novels have been commissioned by book publisher Titan Books.
The first novel, Mass Effect: Andromeda Initiative, is being penned by Fantasy and Science Fiction writer N.K. Jemisin, author of the Inheritance trilogy. In a Rights Guidebook released by Titan Books, they wrote that “The novels will act as prequel and sequels to the events in the games and will become part of the overarching Mass Effect saga. They will focus on key characters and answer the many questions fans have been asking.”
There isn’t much info on books 2, 3 and 4 but it has been revealed that book 4 will be written by Mac Walters, writer and creative director for the Mass Effect franchise. The release dates for the novels have been outlined with Andromeda Initiative releasing Agust 2016. Book 2 will release March 2017, book 3 releases in September 2017 and book 4 is set to release March 2018. All books have an estimated length of 336 pages.
