Prior to the news, Murray announced on Twitter that the game has passed certifications needed to release in Europe, the United States, and parts of Asia.
Whether “Update 1” is a patch or some form of add-on content is currently unknown.

In addition Murray also released the file size for the physical copy of No Man’s Sky. “For those asking – size of No Man’s Sky on disc is just 6GB,” Murray said. “A lot of that is audio”
It was revealed earlier last week that the game has gone gold. No Man’s Sky features a procedurally-generated universe boasting over 18 quintillion different planets.
Initially slated for a June release, the game was delayed to August. In response to the delay, specific fans disappointed by the news sent Murray death threats. It first premiered at the VGX Awards in 2013 alongside a debut trailer.
After four years of development, the game will finally release on PS4 and PC August 9 in North America and August 10 in Europe. For more news leading up to the game’s highly anticipated release, stay tuned on Gamespresso.
