Despite earlier statements, Sony has revealed that not all PlayStation VR titles will be compatible with the DualShock 4 controller.
Sony originally told Eurogamer that all PlayStation VR titles would work with PlayStation 4 controllers:
“All PlayStation VR titles will support DualShock 4 controllers,” Sony stated. “However some game experiences will be enhanced with the use of peripherals such as Move or the recently announced Aim controller.”
However, Sony has released a new statement correcting the old one:
“Nearly all PlayStation VR titles will support DualShock 4 controllers, and several games will deliver an enhanced experience that further immerses gamers with the use of peripherals such as Move or the recently announced Aim controller. There will be a limited number of titles that require Move controllers.”
The PlayStation VR will be released on October 13th. The virtual reality headset will cost gamers $399. Sony showed off their virtual reality platform at this year’s E3. There, they announced that there would be at least 50 titles for the headset between its launch and the end of the year. Titles that have been revealed include Farpoint, Batman Arkham VR, Star Wars Battlefront X-wing Missions, and Resident Evil Biohazard. Also announced was a special version of Final Fantasy XV.
