Pokemon’s Battle Royal will require a lot of strategy
Nintendo has revealed new information for Pokemon Sun and Moon, including how to win in the brand new Battle Royal system. In an interview with Famitsu (translated by Nintendo Everything), game director Shigeru Ohmori and producer Junichi Masuda stated that the new Battle Royal system will really mostly on strategy. Four trainers will battle at once, and compete for points by knocking out each other's Pokemon. However, the game will end when one trainer loses all of their Pokemon. This can make it hard to gang up on the weakest player, as knocking them out right away will end the game before you can rack up points.

Ohmori stated that the strongest player may still be seen as a threat, and in a three-on-one scenario likely would not emerge victorious. Therefore, the best strategy may be to appear to be the second strongest trainer, and last long enough to take out the strongest player out before winning.
It was also mentioned that certain Pokemon will perform better in a Battle Royal than they would in traditional single and double matches. This may bring about a new ranking system for competitive play.
Pokemon Sun and Moon will release on November 18th. The game will be available on the Nintendo 3DS.
