Ubisoft’s Rainbow Six Siege is incredibly dependent on teamwork. So if you start shooting your teammates, Ubisoft is firing back at you.
In their most recent patch for Rainbow Six Siege, Ubisoft revealed its new rules for dealing with those who repeatedly kill their teammates (single, presumably accidental friendly kills will not be punished):
- First offense:
- Casual- Kicked from match.
- Ranked- Banned for 15 minutes, 50% renown penalty for 30 minutes.
- Second offense: Banned from Matchmaking for 30 minutes.
- Third offense: Banned from Matchmaking for 2 hours.
- Fourth offense: Banned from Matchmaking for 24 hours.
- Fifth offense: Banned from Matchmaking for 7 days.
Suspensions and permanent bans will be at Ubisoft’s discretion.
The patch also buffed the visibility and feedback of the Pulse tool and fixes a few miscellaneous bugs. Interestingly, one of these fixes is that you can now access the Casual menu, even while banned.
Rainbow Six Siege is a punishing game, with rounds that are quick bursts of strategy, positioning, and reaction to multitudes of tools, tricks like shooting through walls and floors, and itchy trigger fingers. As such, every moment, action, and player counts. It should come as no surprise that Ubisoft, who has cracked down on cheaters in the game before, would want to protect the delicate balance of the game.
