Razer details criteria needed to take part in OSVR funds
Last week, we put out an article mentioning the Open Source VR project. A project that would help unify the VR ecosystem by breaking down game exclusivity by offering developers a fair bit of money from the $5 million capital that is pooled together by Razer and various other companies. It was mentioned that this project would be accessible for developers who 'qualify' certain criteria. We reached out to Razer for further clarification on what specifically is being looked at for the criteria. This was what they had to say:We generally assess applications based on the following:

We generally assess applications based on the following:
- Visuals
- Genre
- Game Mechanics
- Cross-Platform
- Uniqueness
- Input Devices needed.
These criterias will help us evaluate content fairly, ensuring that they deliver an all rounded VR experience to the community without bias for any one criteria.
Furthermore, we had reached out to the team in regards to a few more questions regarding the fund. It was stated that the fund project has been actively worked on since October 2015; since then the ‘Hacker Development Kit’ has been made available for purchase over at the Razer store.
Finally, as the project takes off, the OSVR team are constantly looking for new partners to work with throughout the lifespan of the project.
