Originally released on the Xbox and PS2 in 2005, The Warriors, is an action brawler based on the 1979 cult film of the same name. But now, thanks to a surprise release, you can pick up the Rockstar developed game on PS4.
Running gamers $14.99, the game features “full 1080p up-rendering and enhanced features such as Trophies, Shareplay, Remote Play, Activity Feeds and Second Screen support,” a similar set of features fans have come to expect from Sony’s line of PS2 Classics.
“New York, 1979. A battle on the streets. The armies of the night number 60,000 strong, and tonight they’re all after The Warriors – a street gang wrongly accused of killing a rival gang leader,” the game’s description reads.
“The Warriors must make their way from one end of New York to their turf on the other side of the city. All that stands between The Warriors and their survival are 20 miles and thousands of street gang members. The army of gangs owns the streets and there’s no turning back.”
If that’s not enough to satisfy your nostalgic appetite, The Metal Slug Anthology also released on PS4 today. Complete with seven Metal Slug games, the anthology includes the same up-rendered graphics and modern features added to The Warriors.
