While we may still not even know what the NX looks like, let alone what it will actually be like to play, diehard Nintendo fans can already win the console. Teaming with Nintendo, Japanese clothing company Uniqlo is putting on a t-shirt design contest with some pretty awesome prizes.
Both first and second place winners will receive a free NX console, signed by Shigeru Miyamoto, along with invitations to an awards ceremony in Kyoto with Miyamoto, plus a special commemorative prize. In addition, first prize will receive $10,000, with second prize awarding $3,000. Runners-up will then also receive $500.
While Uniqlo will oversee the first round of picks, Miyamoto himself will judge the final designs, along with a “Nintendo Special Judges Team.”
With submissions open from now until August 31, Uniqlo and Nintendo are looking for shirt designs featuring any of the gaming company’s most iconic characters. The competition is free to enter, and you can enter as many designs as you like. For all the submission guidelines, be sure to check out the official contest page.
The NX is still largely a mystery. Putting aside the fact we still don’t even have an official name for the console, rumors have made the rounds regardless. These even include a rumor that the new console might use cartridges instead of discs. All Nintendo has said is that the NX is “not about specs,” and they chose not to show the console at E3 out of fear of imitators.
