Phil Spencer tweeted that Microsoft has now manufactured over 1 million Elite controllers. Included in his post was a photo of the one millionth controller manufactured. First released back in October 2015 the Xbox One Elite controller features four back paddles, customizable buttons, swappable thumbsticks, hair trigger locks for faster shooting, and more.
The most valuable feature of the Elite controller is the ability to create button profiles for any game you want. In the app, you can adjust the trigger values, thumbstick sensitivities, and even button assignments, assigning any of 14 inputs to the ABXY buttons, paddles, D-pad, triggers, and thumbstick clicks. You can load two profiles into the controller and switch between them on the fly if you feel like switching games or your play style.
If you want to get the most out of your controller with mappings created and tested by pro gamers you can find them on the Xbox Elite controller page of the website.
If you don’t yet own an Xbox One Elite Controller you can buy one for $149.99. Although a bit steep for a controller, it is a must own for any hardcore gamer.
