It seems ARK: Survival Evolved will not be coming to the PlayStation 4 until later this year when the game is done.
On the game’s official forums, developer Studio Wildcard has revealed that Sony will not allow them to release Survival Evolved until the game is complete.
“As for the PS4 Release of ARK: Survival Evolved, it is currently up to Sony,” Studio Wildcard states. “We’ve been informed that we can’t release the game on this platform until it has been finished. We would like nothing more than to make ARK available on PS4 as soon as possible, as we already have an awesome PS4 version of the game running internally. If you would like to see it sooner, please let Sony know, as it’s unfortunately not our decision.”
It was recently announced that ARK: Survival Evolved has been doing quite well. Studio Wildcard announced that the game has been downloaded over 5 million times, with 1.5 million of those downloads being on the Xbox One. Studio Wildcard co-founder has stated that while the success was unexpected, it is also a double-edged sword as it does raise the expectations on how ambitious the game will be.
ARK: Survival Evolved is currently available through Early Access on PC and Xbox One. The game will officially launch later this year.
