The open beta for Battlefield 1 will begin on August 31 for consoles and PC. You could access it even sooner through early access if you sign up for Battlefield Insider prior to August 21.
This beta will give players a glimpse at one map: the Sinai Desert, a hot location just east of El-Jifar.
“From infantry skirmishes in the narrow streets of the village of Bir el Mazar to dogfights above the majestic cliffs, you’ll need to make tactical use of the dunes as you engage in explosive battles,” said developer EA. “When all hope is lost, reinforcements will arrive in the shape of a powerful Behemoth: a deadly Armored Train charging through the desert sands.”
The beta is set to contain two modes: Conquest, a 64-player mode considered an “all-time fan favorite of Battlefield players” where players must fight it out for control of key objectives. In Battlefield 1, players can expect “large armies on foot or behind the wheel and the addition of fearsome Behemoths.”
A second mode titled Rush, featuring 24 players, pits two sides against each other: the Attacking force is tasked with finding and destroying the telegraph posts of the opposite side, or the Defending force. It’s not that easy though – the Defending force can disarm the explosives the attacking force plants on each post.
