PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players might notice something a little different the next time they load up Battlefield 4.
EA DICE is introducing a new user interface that will provide a more intuitive and centralized experience for Battlefield titles, starting with the console versions of Battlefield 4. Along with the visual changes, there will also be changes in how gamers play with their friends. There will be upgrades to Squads that should make it easier to spawn on your teammates, as well as a recommendation engine that suggests maps, modes, and more. The unified UI will be included with Battlefield games starting with Battlefield 1, which should make it easier to swap between games that use the UI.
The open beta for Battlefield 1 will begin on August 31st for PCs and consoles. Those who are members of Battlefield Insider will be able to access the beta earlier. The beta will feature one map: the Sinai Desert. The beta will also feature two game modes: Conquest, a 64-player where players must fight it out for control of key objective, and Rush, a 24-player mode that pits two sides against each other.
Battlefield 4 is available on PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. Battlefield 1 will release for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on October 21st.
