Not much has been revealed about the Xbox Scorpio after it was officially announced at the Microsoft press briefing at this year’s E3 press conference, though it has been referred to as “the most powerful console ever.” Scorpio will support 4K video and will be compatible with all Xbox One games.
While this new console won’t arrive until 2017, Microsoft released the Xbox One S model last week, resulting in it selling out rather quickly, and the company reportedly has no plans to restock the 2 TB model that is currently the only one available until later this year.
Microsoft also is not the only one with a new, more powerful console on the horizon as Sony is expected to reveal their similar system, PlayStation Neo, at an event in New York on September 7th. Both companies have talked as if these new systems are aimed to sit alongside the current PS4 and Xbox One models in the marketplace.
