Square Enix has announced that Final Fantasy XIV’s annual Moonfire Faire will return this Friday, August 5th.
“Preparations for the Moonfire Faire are all but complete, and Mayaru Mayaru is seeking help to add an extra bang to the festivities,” writes Square Enix. “Those with a burning passion for the summer festival are encouraged to seek him out and see how they can contribute to the celebration.”
During the event, special FATEs will appear in the area around Costa del Sol. When players complete these events, they will be rewarded with Faire vouchers, which can be exchanged for goods. Items that players will be able to earn include a new set of dyeable Legacy Warrior armor, a Firefly Lamp, a Moonfire Faire Orchestrion Scroll, and six new poses.
Final Fantasy XIV recently passed a huge milestone. The game has reached 6 million registered players. It should be noted, however, that this number does not reflect all current subscribers and does not count those on free trial accounts. To celebrate this milestone, Final Fantasy XIV will be hosting a free login campaign. Those who have inactive accounts will be able to log on from July 25th to August 30th and play the game for free for five days.
Final Fantasy XIV is available for PC, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation 4. The Moofire Faire will last until August 26th at 7:59 a.m. PDT.
