Injustice: Gods Among Us took the brutal fights from the pages of DC comic books and put players in control from the comfort of their homes. There was also a nice spin put on things when it was revealed that the Netherrealm ninja of Mortal Kombat, Scorpion, would join the ranks. With the success of this inclusion and the release of Injustice 2 next year, we could be seeing more outsiders take on our DC heroes and villains.
Mortal Kombat X saw the inclusion of some interesting characters, such as Leatherface and the Predator. In a recent interview, Ed Boon discussed the success of these characters and how this could spread into the development of Injustice 2. “I think we are going to go further with DLC than any of our previous games,” he stated. “Most likely with packs of characters and costumes. Some of our costumes will be a gear piece, so if you put on a gear piece, you might switch over to a different character. And that is going to be another part of what makes finding these pieces so much fun.”
This is the same way that players are able to use Carl Weather’s character from the original Predator in the form of Jax in Mortal Kombat X. So Injustice 2 could be seeing more Mortal Kombat guests, or perhaps some even more outsiders take on the DC Universe. We will hopefully find out more soon.
