Latest Prey trailer shows off coffee mug transformation
Bethesda Softworks released a new trailer for Prey, a first-person shooter, featuring some of the game's unique abilities at this year's Gamescom. The footage shows main protagonist, Morgan Yu, aboard the Talos I space station using a weapon known as the Gloo Cannon – a multi-purpose tool that he can use to freeze enemies in place. The frozen figures resemble clay-like sculptures which can then be smashed to pieces with other powers. The Gloo Cannon can also be used for traversal, allowing Morgan to create pathways to hard-to-reach areas, or seal off fiery vents so he can bypass them safely.
Bethesda Softworks released a new trailer for Prey, a first-person shooter, featuring some of the game’s unique abilities at this year’s Gamescom.

The frozen figures resemble clay-like sculptures which can then be smashed to pieces with other powers. The Gloo Cannon can also be used for traversal, allowing Morgan to create pathways to hard-to-reach areas, or seal off fiery vents so he can bypass them safely.
Another power shown in the trailer is the Mimic ability, which Morgan learned from the aliens. In order to proceed through a locked area without a passcode, Morgan uses Mimic to become a coffee mug to roll and slip though a tiny window. Other wacky items that players can become a copy of in the environment have yet to be revealed.
The ending bit of gameplay shows Morgan floating through space, “yet another way to explore the fully contiguous space station,” said Bethesda.
Prey is planned to release sometime in 2017 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. Prey first made its debut at this year’s E3 press conference. Stay tuned for more updates.
