Unfortunately, Japan has not been the hottest region for the Xbox One, which is not an uncommon trait in the Xbox console lineage. Earlier this month, former Xbox Executive Robbie Bach revealed to IGN that Microsoft might have spent too much time trying to market the original Xbox to Japan, especially after the region was unresponsive. Bach went on to say that too much focus on Japan may have actually “distracted” Microsoft from making progress elsewhere.
While Microsoft won’t hold a press conference at Gamescom (taking place between August 18th and 21st), they will hold an Xbox FanFest at the show, allowing players to go hands on with some of the company’s upcoming titles, such as Gears of War 4, Halo Wars 2, Sea of Thieves and more.
