Arkane Studios has decided to put the spotlight on Empress Emily Kaldwin in the latest Dishonored 2 gameplay video shown at this year’s Gamescom.
Emily is one of two playable characters in the game, the other being Corvo Attano, the main protagonist of the first Dishonored.
The footage shows Emily using her array of assassination abilities in a new setting known as the Clockwork Mansion. According to Bethesda’s description, the Clockwork Mansion is a level in which players can trigger a series of switches to physically change the mansion around them. By activating these switches, walls and floors shift, revealing new pathways for alternate approaches.
Emily’s mission in the area is to take out the mansion’s owner, Kirin Jindosh. On the way to her target, Emily encounters a variety of foes including Clockwork Soldiers, mechanical sword-wielding enemies. The gameplay shows Emily leaping between different floors while methodically disassembling the Clockwork Soldiers.
Also, the Royal Conservatory, an all-new level shown off-screen at Gamescom, features Emily facing off against mysterious Witches. These witches first made their appearance in Dishonored DLC, and are back for more in the sequel.
Dishonored 2 is set to launch November 11 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Stay tuned for more updates.
