Frontier Developments are the creative minds behind the Roller Coaster Tycoon and Thrillville series. They also developed the equally popular simulation series Zoo Tycoon, as well as successful Xbox 360 Kinect titles such as Kinectimals and Kinect Disneyland Adventures, and the lauded Lost Wind series.
Their upcoming coaster game, Planet Coaster, is focused on greater customization of park attractions, more unique guests with specific wants (and ability to spend on those wants), and an interactive online community. It’s billing itself as “Simulation Evolved”. As their website states, “We’ve created a living world where every guest is an individual with their own personality and money in their pocket. We’re giving you limitless freedom to build rides and scenery piece by piece, and to seamlessly blend them with your own hand-sculpted terrain. We’re building a connected global village where everyone can share in your creativity. And that’s just the start.”
Until August 25th, it is available for early bird access, and multiple tiers are available for purchase. Some of the perks range from alpha and early bird access for the game and updates from developers, to in-game accessories and involvement with the Planet Coaster community through polls.
Planet Coaster releases November 17th for PC.
