PlayStation 4 owners will be able to play the Resident Evil-based spinoff, Umbrella Corps, for free this weekend.
From 12:00 p.m. PDT on August 12th through August 13th at 11:59 p.m. PDT, PlayStation 4 owners will be able to download and play Umbrella Corps for free. Players who download the free demo will be able to play with those who already own the game
“In addition to close-quarters matches in settings from various Resident Evil games, Umbrella Corps adds another twist that keeps you on your toes,” Capcom states. “Enemy players aren’t the only threats – zombies, infected villagers, and other menacing creatures also wander the battlefield. As long as your Zombie Jammers are intact they’ll ignore you, but if your Jammer takes damage in the crossfire, you’ll have your hands full!
“This feature-rich demo offers a chance to try the online modes and maps from the game. Explore RE locations in a whole new way such as the Kijuju map from RE5, the Village from RE4, and even the original mansion from the first RE.”
In other Resident Evil news, the Resident Evil 7 teaser has become the most popular single-player demo to be released on the PlayStation 4. The demo has been downloaded over 2 million times since it was revealed at Sony’s 2016 E3 press conference. The demo, however, is more about understanding the vibe that Capcom is aiming for, as the content in the demo will not show up in the actual game.
Umbrella Corps is available on PC and PlayStation 4.
