While many were disappointed that the PlayStation Neo was not officially revealed at this year’s E3, it was most likely for the best. Microsoft revealed both of its enhanced Xbox One consoles during the conference. These include the slimmer Xbox One S and the upcoming powerhouse, known as Project Scorpio. With the PlayStation Neo revealed delay, it looks like it will have its own day to shine.
Earlier this week, a french gaming site began a rumor of the Neo being revealed in New York some time in September. Because this was previous to the Tokyo Game Show, readers may have been confused about what stage the reveal could be a part of. Now, that rumor is coming closer to a reality. A representative has spoken to Polygon and confirmed the event in New York.
On September 7th, 12:00 PT/3:00 ET pm, Sony will hold the PlayStation Meeting in the PlayStation Theater in Times Square. It should be noted, however, that there has been no confirmation for the reveal of the Neo, only that the New York event exists. This is the same way Sony revealed the PS4 in February of 2013 though. The meeting is also being livestreamed and more information would be coming soon.
