Ubisoft has announced that BattleEye, an anti-cheating program, has banned over 3,800 players Rainbow Six Siege players in its first week.
In the future, BattleEye will improve in efficiency by banning more quickly, sometimes in real-time.
“The launch and integration of the first BETA iteration of BattlEye set forth in motion a dramatic change in the way we approach cheaters in Rainbow Six Siege that is more preventative,” Ubisoft said on the game’s official blog. “With this first wave of bans from BattlEye, we are establishing a firm stance to protect the game and the community for the long run.”
“We are continuously working with BattlEye through frequent updates in order to improve the detection of cheats, the R6 Technical Architect said.
Ubisoft said that they will be taking many actions to prevent cheaters moving forward (some you’ll see, some you won’t). The company’s stance on cheating is for the purpose that players “fully enjoy the intensity and competitive nature of the game while being confident your game is fair,” Ubisoft added.
Rainbow Six Siege is available now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The game’s latest expansion, Skull Rain, was released earlier this month. Last week, news that the game’s popularity has increased since launch was announced by Ubisoft.
