PC players may soon be able to access a large library of PlayStation 3 games through Sony’s PlayStation Now streaming service.
According to a French gaming site (GameKult), the service will be officially announced and launched August 23rd in Belgium, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom. The United States and Canada are expected to receive it a week later.
In order to use the service, PC players apparently need at least Windows 7, a 5mb/s internet connection, and a compatible controller. The PlayStation Now subscription service currently offers access to over 300 PlayStation 3 games across multiple devices.
No official comment on the rumor has been made by Sony or PlayStation. Recently, Sony announced a PlayStation Meeting event in the PlayStation Theater at Times Square. The event will occur September 7th, 12:00 p.m. PT. Many speculate that the company will reveal the next iteration of PlayStation 4, code-named Neo.
If the rumors hold true the announcement of PlayStation Now is conveniently two weeks before the supposed Neo announcement.
Earlier this month, the service added a slew of RPGs to its lineup. You can purchase the service at $19.99 for one month, $44.99 for three months, or try the seven-day free trial.
