As Microsoft continues its backwards compatibility program for current gen, it appears Skate 3 is the next game to make the leap to Xbox One.
Skate 3 was the last, and well received, offering from the Skate series, released for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. It has been known for a while now that Skate 3 is going to be coming to the Xbox One via its backwards compatibility program, but there’s just been evidence found that the game is going to release for Xbox One soon.
YouTuber X7 Albert, amongst others, noticed that a patch has released for Skate 3, which is six years old at this point (already a sign of development). The patch fixes an old problem for the game: Digital downloaders of the game and physical copy players couldn’t play online in the same session. Microsoft’s backwards compatibility program is selling itself on its cross-platform play between Xbox 360 and Xbox One (as well as cross-platform saves between Xbox One and PC). It only seems likely that the release of this patch is gearing the game up for its current generation release.
Skate 3 is currently available for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 and, presumably, soon to be available on Xbox One.
