Respawn Entertainment has announced that they will be holding Titanfall 2’s first multiplayer livestream at this year’s Gamescom.
The event, which is being called Factions, will pit two teams against each other in a variety of matches. Both of the teams will feature popular YouTubers, many of whom have been posted on Respawn’s blog post. The livestream will take place on August 16th at 11 a.m. PST, and can be viewed on the game’s official Twitch channel.
The blog post also states that the event will be “the perfect time to get little preview of what [fans] can expect” from the upcoming technical test. There were no other details given, but the blog post did promise that the developer will release information about the test in the near future.
For Titanfall 2, Respawn Entertainment has announced that they will be changing server technology in order to get a better multiplayer experience than the first title. For the original Titanfall, Respawn used Microsoft’s cloud-based system, Azure, in order to run the game’s servers. While the system did provide fast service to many regions of the world, there were some that did not support Azure. Thus, Respawn will be taking Titanfall 2’s online service over to Multiplay, who should be able to reach service around the world with minimal latency.
Titanfall 2 will release on October 28th. The game will be available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
