The Xbox One version of World War 1-based shooter Verdun has been delayed.
Developer Blackmail Games confirmed that while the title will not hit its release date on Microsoft’s console, it will still release on PlayStation 4 on August 30.
“Although we would have loved to release Verdun on both the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 at the same time, we regret to inform you that the Xbox One release is postponed,” the developer wrote in an update. “We hope to get the game as soon as possible on this great platform. Yet in order to deliver you a true trench warfare experience we need a little more time.”
“We take our releases seriously and for this reason made a difficult decision to delay the Xbox One release.”
Verdun was originally released in 2015 on PC as a first-person shooter set in World War 1 between 1914 and 1918, containing historically accurate features such as weaponry, authentic uniforms, horrendous gore, and maps.
“Verdun is the first multiplayer FPS set in a realistic World War One setting. The merciless trench warfare offers a unique battlefield experience, immersing you and your squad into intense battles of attack and defense,” the game’s description reads.
Verdun currently sits at 70 on review aggregate site Metacritic.
