It has been revealed that the Battlefield 1 open beta can be played on the PlayStation 4 without a PlayStation Plus subscription. However, Xbox One players will need an Xbox Live Gold subscription in order to participate.
DICE recently revealed on Twitter that those who participate in the game’s beta on the PlayStation 4 will not need a PS Plus subscription.

However, when asked if an Xbox Live Gold subscription is required to play the beta on the Xbox One, the developer responded yes.

It has been announced that Battlefield 1 will have a $50 premium season pass. Those who purchase the pass will will get two-week early access to Battlefield 1’s new multiplayer maps, armies, and more in four themed expansion packs. The first pack will release in March 2017, and will be called “They Shall Not Pass.” The pass will include 16 multiplayer maps, 20 new weapons, 14 unique dog tags, and 14 Battlefield 1 Battlepacks containing stand-out weapon skins. Each Battlepack will be delivered monthly, with the first one releasing in November 2016.
The open beta for the latest Battlefield title begins on August 31st. Those who signed up for Battlefield Insider were able to access the beta a day early.
Battlefield 1 will be released on October 21st for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
