Deep Silver has announced that Homefront: The Revolution is free to play on Steam until Sunday, September 11 at 1 p.m. PST.
The free weekend is a chance to “showcase the significant improvements made in the recent Performance Patch,” said the developer in a press release.
“The entire game will be unlocked and available to sample, including the vast 30-hour single player campaign and full access to Resistance Mode, Homefront’s online co-operative experience, together with the new Missions released since launch,” the dev continued.
Resistance Mode’s brand-new missions are called Boom Patrol and Indy Forever. The mode also includes newly-added features such as “Guerilla Score” and “Renown” system.
In addition to the free-to-play weekend, Deep Silver is offering two deals until 10 a.m. PST on September 10. A full purchase of Homefront: The Revolution is 40% off. Also, the Freedom Fighter Bundle DLC will be sold for 50% off.
The recent Performance Patch, or Patch 2.0, launched last month, and made significant improvements to the game’s performance. The update included frame rate boosts, lighting and particle optimizations, and checkpoint save and enemy spawning optimizations.
The full patch notes can be seen the game’s official website.
Homefront: The Revolution is currently available now on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
