The PlayStation NEO is officially PS4 Pro, releasing Nov. 10
Finally pulling back the curtain on the upgraded PlayStation console, Sony has revealed the NEO is now the PS4 Pro. Supporting 4K resolution and High Dynamic Range (HDR), the Pro will be sold alongside the standard PS4, and is meant for gamers who want a clearer experience. The new console with launch November 10 for $399.4K resolution makes the picture look sharper, while HDR makes things appear much more like they would in the real world. According to designer Mark Cerny, when the PS4 Pro is connected to a 4K television, it will result in "resolutions not thought to be possible on consoles in 2016."

Featuring an upgraded GPU, boosted clockrate, and a 1TB harddrive, the console will offer an enhanced experience for gamers, but Sony is quick to emphasize that they are working to maintain a single PlayStation community. Multiple mechanisms will be in place allowing you to transfer your games and date from PS4 to the upgraded console.
Utilizing what Sony is calling ‘forward compatibility,’ even older games will receive patches enabling 4K resolution of HDR. Titles like Paragon, Shadow of Mordor, and even Call of Duty: Black Ops III will also see such patches. Meanwhile, games such as FIFA, Horizon, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, and Mass Effect Andromeda will all support the PS4 Pro at launch.
