From the well-regarded indie studio Twisted Pixel, Splosion Man is a 2.5D action platformer released in 2009. Players step into the role of an escaped science experiment as he struggles to find a way out of the laboratory, exploding as he does so.
As for the other free titles actually announced as part of Games with Gold, you can get your parkour fix with both Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China and Mirror’s Edge. ACC: China is a 2.5D stealth action game that pulls in and uses many of the conventions of the Assassin’s Creed series, like wrist blades, Leaps of Faith, and platforming. Mirror’s Edge on the other hand is a first-person free-running game. Though more limited than its open-world sequel that came out earlier this year, the original features the same freedom of movement and death-defying jumps.
