Activision confirms in an update to the official FAQ that Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare requires about 130GB of hard drive space. The publisher explains the 130GB size is a “high-end estimate” because it includes “both games, any Day 1 updates, as well as the additional Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered multiplayer maps to be released before Dec. 31, 2016.” Modern Warfare Remastered will ship with 10 multiplayer maps, and six more maps will release as DLC in December.
This clarification comes after the high file size leaked last week when a French retailer began handing out empty Infinite Warfare boxes that included a code for the Modern Warfare Remastered campaign. The campaign for Modern Warfare Remastered is available to play for 30 days ahead of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare’s November 4th launch date for PlayStation 4 users who pre-ordered any of the Infinite Warfare special editions.
It is unknown how large the file size for Infinite Warfare is alone, though it is confirmed Modern Warfare Remastered will take up about 40GB of hard drive space. The Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare remaster is only available in Legacy, Legacy Pro, Digital Legacy, and Digital Deluxe editions. For physical versions, Modern Warfare Remastered will require the Infinite Warfare disc in the tray to play even though it is a “full game digital download” on PlayStation 4.
