Dropping a few hundred dollars to pick up a VR headset is rough enough without even thinking about the games themselves. So it’s no wonder that gamers are concerned about the amount of content those games will provide. With Batman: Arkham VR releasing next week alongside the PSVR, Rocksteady clarified what fans can expect from the VR experience.
Speaking with PressStart, Brand Marketing Producer Dax Ginn explained, “The core narrative is about 60 minutes in duration, however additional content is unlocked that provides about another 90 minutes of gameplay on top of that. So there are plenty of reasons to play through the game multiple times in order to see everything that we have put into it.”
Two-and-a-half hours certainly isn’t much to win over many gamers, but it is worth noting Batman: Arkham VR is not priced as a full game. It’s only $20, meaning the question is left at just how badly players want to see the world through Batman’s cowl.
Announced at E3 this past summer, Arkham VR marks the return of studio Rocksteady to the Arkham universe, even after Arkham Knight was supposedly their last Batman game. Though originally announced as a PSVR exclusive, it now seems the game will be making its way to other VR platforms early next year.
