Bethesda is still interested in full mod support on PS4
After the news about Bethesda only offering players partial mod support for the PlayStation 4 ports of their games, both fans and the team were disappointed about the limitations. Potential good news though, according to Bethesda's VP of PR, Peter Hines, the team at Bethesda are still pushing for the full modded experience on PlayStation 4, and will continue to talk to Sony in order to make it work somehow.Back in September, Bethesda released a statement to announce that unfortunately, Sony could not agree with the current state of mod support where players could be free to create and upload anything they wanted. Since then, the team was able to announce that mod support will be available for both Fallout 4 and Skyrim Special Edition on PS4, but with an addendum. Modders will be able to create mods in the Creation Kit, which only uses assets from the game, and will not be able to upload external assets. This compromise has enabled Sony to green light the feature in exchange for full creative freedom.

Hines had also stated explicitly that while talks were still in motion, “Whether it will change in the future, I don’t know. It’s isn’t up to me”. The release of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition on the 28th of October came with the partial mod support. Fallout 4’s mod support implementation is still delayed for sometime in the future.
