Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered does not launch until next month, but PlayStation 4 owners with a special edition pre-order can play the campaign early starting tomorrow. Some streamers received codes early and have been revealing details about the game ahead of launch.
According to “NoahJ456” in a tweet, the game requires 39.18GB of hard drive space on the PlayStation 4, but players can start playing after 10.61GB has been downloaded. Xbox One and PC file sizes have not been revealed, but will most likely be in the same range. For comparison, the original Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare had a file size around 8GB when it launched in 2007.
PlayStation 4 users who pre-order the Legacy, Legacy Pro, Digital Legacy, and Digital Deluxe editions of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare can access and play the campaign to Modern Warfare Remastered 30 days early on October 5th. The classic multiplayer cannot be played until Infinite Warfare’s launch on November 4th.
Activision recently confirmed the game would require the Infinite Warfare disc to play for console players who bought physical versions. Modern Warfare Remastered also requires an internet connection since it is a “full game digital download” on PlayStation 4, while the Xbox One version contains the game on the disc with an additional download required.
