After going live at the end of last month, The Division Public Test Server (PTS) is now offline as Massive moves on to implementing the changes into the full game. Developed specifically to test the far-reaching balance changes featured in the game’s 1.4 update, the PTS was a success according to the developers.
Posting on the Division forums, “As we wrap things up, we want to thank everyone for your involvement in making the PTS a huge success. These dedicated forums will remain open until the Update goes live, so feel free to continue discussing PTS related topics.” Unfortunately there is still no firm release date for the patch. But with weeks of testing already under their belts, it’s not unreasonable to expect 1.4 to hit sooner rather than later.
When Massive first decided to use Update 1.4 as a vehicle to fix many of the issues that have continued to plague The Division, the developer delayed the game’s remaining season pass DLC. The update looks to address everything from the feel of gameplay to the time it takes to kill enemies and the structure of the endgame rewards.
Depending on the lessons Massive learned from the PTS, all of these changes, along with numerous big fixes and balance tweaks, could potentially have a large impact on the remaining life of the game. For more on The Division, keep checking back right here on Gamespresso.
