The maximum Light level for Destiny players will be raised to 400 tomorrow, Bungie details in their weekly update. This is an increase from maximum Light level of 385, introduced when the Rise of Iron expansion launched on September 20.
The Light level for rewards will also be increased for some activities. Strike Hoards, Nightfall, Exotic Engrams, Trials of Osiris, Crucible, and Iron Banner will drop rewards up to 400 Light. Archon’s Forge, the Heroic SIVA Strike playlist, and Legendary Engrams will go up to 385 Light. Rare Engrams and the SIVA Strike Playlist rewards will be up to 365 Light.
“For players forging their path through Wrath of the Machine, Trials of Osiris, and Iron Banner, these activities will now attempt to reward higher Light on average, compared to your current Light,” said senior designer Victoria Dollbaum.
The recommended Light level will remain the same for all activities, except for Nightfall which is increasing from 360 to 380. The Heroic difficulty for the new raid, Wrath of the Machine, will also be added with the update.
Dollbaum noted that Artifacts and Ghosts were “dropping from fewer sources than intended” and have now been added to Archon’s Forge as potential rewards that drop up to 400 Light. The rate at which Ghosts and Artifacts are rewarded from Faction Packages and Eris’ Faction Packages, respectively, have also been increased.
The new Destiny update, titled update 2.4.1, will go live on 10 a.m. PT on Tuesday, October 18. The Heroic difficulty for Wrath of the Machine will not unlock until 2 p.m. PT on the same day.
