World of Warcraft: Nostalrius makes bold statement about legacy servers
Made clear in a forum post from Nostalrius admin Viper, the crew behind the hit World of Warcraft legacy server is prepared to make an announcement after BlizzCon if Blizzard does not.During the massive Blizzard focused event in early November, Nostalrius and many others believe that “this is the golden occasion for them to announce their plan for legacy realms, and potentially fulfil the dreams of millions of fans over the world.” That in itself is cause for excitement from all players who wish to go back and enjoy original release of World of Warcraft. However, it is the next statement that stands out when Viper continues, “as a consequence, if Blizzard doesn’t make an announcement to honour their own core values, be sure that we will.”

During the massive Blizzard focused event in early November, Nostalrius and many others believe that “this is the golden occasion for them to announce their plan for legacy realms, and potentially fulfil the dreams of millions of fans over the world.” That in itself is cause for excitement from all players who wish to go back and enjoy original release of World of Warcraft. However, it is the next statement that stands out when Viper continues, “as a consequence, if Blizzard doesn’t make an announcement to honour their own core values, be sure that we will.”
We can draw more than a few different conclusions from the sentence, however it implies, in one way or another, we will be seeing legacy servers make an appearance after BlizzCon. Whether that will be official servers from Blizzard, another Nostalrius, or something else entirely, it is cause for some excitement from those who are eagerly awaiting any news.
According to the admins at Nostalrius, around 300,000 players signed a petition saying they would pay a subscription fee for legacy servers and Blizzard already has everything needed to solve technical issues that may arise. Now we just have to wait until BlizzCon, starting on the 4th of November, for more information.
