From the gang at Mouldy Toof Studios and Team17, The Escapists 2 has been announced for release in 2017 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
Much like the original, The Escapists 2 sets up the player as a cunning and devious prisoner attempting to escape from prison. New features range from new combat techniques to new items to craft and new ways to make your escape.
There is a more detailed art style this time around, with more customization options. This means you can show off those tats, and even play as a girl.
The biggest change for the sequel, however, is the inclusion of drop-in multiplayer. Players can work cooperatively and competitively in online and split screen formats for up to four players. So now you can finally fulfill that fantasy of having your buddy Steve distract the guard while you steal some tools for your late night escape. Or throw him under the bus so you can make a clean getaway.
Chris Davis, founder of Mouldy Toof said in a press release: “I’m thrilled to be working with my friends at Team17 again to bring this new chapter of The Escapists to life. The Escapists 2 takes everything the fans loved from the first game and adds in so many new additions and features on top.”
