Two more teasers have been released for Resident Evil VII: Biohazard, showing us even more of the world of the upcoming horror title.
The first of the two teasers is entitled “Recorder,” and shows off Resident Evil VII’s save mechanic. Similar to the typewriter in previous titles, the tape recorder will be the player’s main way of saving their game data. The second teaser is called “Stock Up,” and shows off the pocket knife, which the player can use to break open crates. It is also shown that the player will be able to use the knife for various tasks, such as cutting through tape on a breaker box. You can check out the videos below.
Even though it seems Resident Evil VII will be making changes when compared to recent entries in the series, one thing is definitely sticking around: the inventory system. In a video on the game’s YouTube channel, it is seen that the players inventory will consist of 12 blocks in a 3×4 rectangle (at least at that point in the game). Most items will take up one block of space, though the shotgun is shown to use up two. There will also be weapon crates to store items in, from which players can pull what they need.
Resident Evil VII: Biohazard will release on January 24th for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
