This past Black Friday was once of the biggest for online shopping; pushing past the $3 billion mark, and Thanksgiving day pushing that number past $5 billion for money spent over the holidays. With Black Friday comes Black Friday game and console deals. Both the Xbox one and PlayStation 4 were on sale this Black Friday, but it turns out, according to an Adobe report, the Xbox One outsold the PS4, despite the PS4 being the more popular console this season.
The Xbox was actually among the top 5 Black Friday electronic products sold, only being beaten out by Apple iPads, Samsung 4k TVs, Apple MacBook Air, LG TVs, all being either electronic staples of heavily hyped items for this holiday season. PlayStation products did a bit better on Cyber Monday, seeing as how a lot of their deals were digital.
These statistics are very accurate, and according to the report, “Adobe’s Black Friday report is based on aggregated and anonymous data from 22.6 billion visits to retail websites. Adobe measures 80 percent of all online transactions from the top 100 U.S. retailers, more than any other technology company-”
“The tremendous volume of data puts Adobe in the unique position to deliver highly accurate, census-based online sales totals, pricing and product availability trends.”
It seems Microsoft has been working hard to keep the Xbox relevant after the shaky One launch, and it’s now holding its own among the highly competitive console market.
