Mass Effect Andromeda could still be delayed if necessary

Mass Effect fans have been patiently waiting for Andromeda since its reveal in June 2014, and then later on after the first delay announcement. At EA's fiscal conference, CFO Blake Jorgenson brought up the potential for another delay.Jorgenson says, “We’re willing to make moves in launch dates if we feel that it’s necessary to deliver the right player experience. Our guidance assumes that Mass Effect continues to be in this [fiscal] year, but it gives us some flexibility that we might choose to move it either a week or three, or four, or five months if we have to based on what we want to make sure in terms of delivering the right experience to the players."

EA plans to take its time with the new Mass Effect, as it’s quite the ambitious project that includes large maps and creating an entirely new animation system to breathe new life into the game.

There’s currently no news on whether or not the game is actually delayed beyond its tentative March 2017 release window, but Jorgenson promises fans will hear about a release date as soon as a final decision is made. Players have been waiting for 4 years for a new installment of the franchise, and they are probably capable of waiting a bit longer to allow for the best game they can get.

Mass Effect Andromeda is currently slated for a release in early 2017 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
