Next Generation eSports has announced that it has teamed up with Stunlock Studios to organize a new competitive Battlerite tournament series. Under the name BattleRekt, this ongoing tournament will allow players to signup to compete in weekly preliminary Arena matches. These matches will then lead up to a season finale at the end of that month.
The tournament series will feature 256 NA and EU teams competing in 2v2 and 3v3 matches every week. These teams will have the chance to win a total of $10,000 in prizes. Season One is scheduled to begin on December 2 following the first three weeks of preliminaries.
Rickard Frisegård, the CEO of Stunlock studios has commented on how this event will allow Battlerite to grow its eSports community as a whole. He states, “Arena brawlers have exploded in popularity, and Battlerite is leading the charge in shaping this genre for eSports. Partnering with NGE on BattleRekt will allow our growing community to compete in a definitive Battlerite competition.” The company also states that Battlerite has been designed for eSports and that its fast-paced gameplay will allow fans to enjoy spectating the game.
