Global missions are timed events where the entire player base tries to meet a certain goal. If this goal is met, everyone who participated will receive a reward. Even if the goal is not reached, those who participated will receive a participation prize.
The first global mission is for players to try to catch combined total of 100 million Pokemon. The event starts today, November 29th, and will run through December 13th. If the goal is met, each participant will receive 1,000 Festival Coins. If the mission is not completed, those who tried will receive 100 Festival Coins. To be sure that their catches get included in the final count, players must use Game Sync by December 13th.
We may see a version of Sun and Moon come to Nintendo’s upcoming console, the Switch. Sources have told Eurogamer that a version of the games, codenamed Pokemon Stars, will serve as the new generation’s third entry. The sources state that the game will feature the same map and art style as Sun and Moon, though the Switch version will use separate, higher-resolution assets. Players will be able to trade between Stars and Sun and Moon through the Pokemon Bank app. Stars was originally slated to release in Summer of 2017, but was pushed back to later into the year.
Pokemon Sun and Moon are available on the 3DS.
