The latest sales chart for video games in the UK is in. GFK reveals the top selling titles from the week ending the 26th November, and shows that soccer game FIFA 17 has taken the top spot away from the Infinity Ward production Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, which held the lead for the past three weeks.
The big release of the week was for the latest adventure in the world of Pokemon, with Pokemon Sun and Moon coming to the handheld Nintendo 3DS. They managed to enter at number 3 and 4 respectively, which is pretty impressive considering they are only available for the one platform. The new franchise entries, and their charming islands of Alola, are likely to occupy the top reaches of the sales chart for the coming weeks.
The Top 20 looks like this:
- FIFA 17
- Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare
- Pokemon Sun
- Pokemon Moon
- Battlefield 1
- Watchdogs 2
- Forza Horizon 3
- Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End
- Grand Theft Auto 5
- Gears of War 4
- Titanfall 2
- Dishonored 2
- Minecraft: Xbox Edition
- Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens
- WWE 2K17
- Overwatch
- The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition
- Rise of the Tomb Raider
- Mafia III
- Driveclub
The past week has seen many games discounted as part of Black Friday special offers. FIFA 17 has also been free to play this weekend, perhaps tempting customers to purchase the full game and therefore boosting its sales. The same must be said for the meteoric rise of Naughty Dog’s Uncharted 4, which has been subject to large slashes in its price, bringing Nathan Drake back into the top 10.
Titanfall 2 has seen a healthy rise from 15th up to 11th, but still fails to hit the high spots its developer Respawn Entertainment likely would have hoped for.
