A major update is coming to Battleborn.
Gearbox Software has announced that Battleborn will be receiving a major update soon. According to the developer, it will be the shooter’s biggest update yet. The update will include content and features for both newcomers and veterans alike.
A few features will be added for new players. All 25 of the game’s core characters will now be unlocked after the Prologue has been completed. The character unlock challenges will now award a brand new skin upon completion, and several of the challenges have been adjusted to be more attainable. Story mode missions will now have more guides and tools to lead players through the game, and Credit rewards have been boosted. Two new training modes have also been added. Incursion Tutorial helps players learn the key elements of competitive play. The first play-through is solo, but the mode can be repeated with groups of up to three players.
A few changes for veteran players have been made as well. Battleborn will receive a number of UI changes. A new Draft Mode is being added, in which teams and players take turns picking and banning characters as they try to find the perfect match-ups and counters to what the other team is choosing. Daily Quests will be introduced, and there will be an increase in both Command and Character ranks.
There will be an update to the in-game economy, as credits will now accumulate faster in public PVP matches, making it easier to grab more loot packs in the Marketplace. All loot pack variations will still drop in Story Mode missions, but only the Core pack will be available in the Marketplace. The Core Pack will have better odds for higher rarity gear and will have a chance to drop any skin or taunt previously available in Faction packs. There will also be a bigger variety of Boosts available for Platinum in the Marketplace.
Battleborn is available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Gearbox Software will be holding a livestream featuring the new update on Twitch on December 8th at 2 p.m. PT (5 p.m. ET).
